What to do when you have last minute guests?
This Fabulous Trio of Crostini is my secret weapon for the spur of the moment get together. Trust me no one will be disappointed!
Some of the best times are the ones we really don’t plan for. The last minute – “let’s get together now”, “sure why not?”, “how fun!”- type of get together with friends just to enjoy each other’s company or catch up on life’s latest.
Of course, the first thing that crosses my mind when this happens is “is my house clean?” Followed by, “what are we going to eat and drink?”
There’s no time to spare and goldfish crackers and cheese sticks are not an option. After all, this is an adult get together not my little kid’s play date!!
Caramelized Figs with Honey and Goat Cheese Crostini has the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. If you don’t have figs handy, you can use peach or apple slices.
My second crostini is a classic and familiar flavor combination, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil with balsamic reduction ~ caprese crostini!
Fresh, flavorful and easy to put together!
So now we need a third option. A rich, decadent, gooey and warm option!
Tuna Melt Crostini with Capers, so incredibly easy to make and sure to be a big hit!
- For the Caramelized Figs with Honey and Goat Cheese Crostini, brush the bread with melted butter instead of olive oil for a richer sweeter flavor.
- No figs? No problem. Sliced apples are a delicious option. Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor.
- Cream cheese is also a good substitute for the goat cheese. Yum!!!!
