Strawberry Margaritas

Ingredients 

  • 1 pound frozen whole strawberries
  • 4 ounces 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4-5 limes)
  • 8 ounces 1 cup tequila
  • 4 ounces 1/2 cup Grand Mariner, Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 2 ounces agave nectar or simple syrup or to taste optional

Garnishes:

  • Coarse Kosher salt or margarita salt
  • Limes
  • Strawberries

Instructions 

  • Glasses: Run a small wedge of lime around the outer rim of the glasses. Fill a shallow bowl with salt, and dip the rim in the salt until it is covered with your desired amount of salt. Set aside.
  • Add the frozen strawberries, lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur and agave nectar into a blender. Blend until smooth. Taste and add more tequila or agave nectar if desired.
  • Pour the blended strawberry margarita into the prepared glass. Garnish with a slice of lime and strawberry, sliced or whole (optional).
