Instant Pot Carnitas

This is a staple in my home now! I love to use the remaining juices from the meat to cook rice in the instantpot to eat with the carnitas. It all flows well together.

INGREDIENTS

Pork

Garlic

Beer

+

Chili Powder

+

Onion Powder

+

Oregano

Cumin

Salt and Black Pepper

Season the pork with salt and pepper, then sear it until it browns on all sides.

Pour all your liquids into the pot and scrape the bottom to remove any brown bits.

Add the spices.

Return the meat to the pot, close the lid and cook on "high".

Remove the pork and reduce the cooking liquid while shredding the pork.

Transfer the shredded pork to a baking sheet with the cooking liquid and broil.

Serve and enjoy!

If cooking pork in the pressure cooker while frozen, skip the searing part. If you decide to make this easy and quick recipe with frozen chicken, you must skip the searing part as well.
