Instructions

Make the Cream

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sour cream, condensed milk, evaporated milk and vanilla extract until evenly combined.

Layering Strawberries and Cream

  • Hull the strawberries and discard the stems. Cut the strawberries into bite size pieces or into thin slices.
  • Start layering the berries and cream. Add a couple of spoonfuls of strawberries into a glass or cup (about 1/4 cup), Pour some of the cream mixture over the berries. Add more fruit and top with the cream. Layer fruit and cream until the cups are full.

Notes

  • Instead of full-fat sour cream you can use light sour cream, creme fraiche or plain Greek yogurt.
  • Substitute evaporated milk with heavy cream, half and half or whole milk, if preferred.
  • If the strawberries are too tart, sprinkle about a tablespoon of sugar over the cut berries. Gently toss and allow to sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Make this fresas con crema recipe dairy free! Use dairy free sour cream, coconut milk and condensed coconut milk!
