This Red, White and Blue Marble Layered Cake is the perfect dessert to serve for the 4th of July or any other patriotic celebration, family gathering or holiday cookout.

Combine the sugar, vegetable oil, eggs and vanilla extract.

Add the sour cream and beat until well combined.

In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients.

Mix all ingredients together, then divide the cake batter into 3 mixing bowls.

When all batter has been added to the baking pans, gently swirl the colors together.

Bake and cool completely before frosting.

In a bowl, gradually whip all the ingredients for the buttercream frosting

Assemble the cake by layering each cake with frosting.

Frost the outside of the cake, decorate and garnish with sprinkles.

Room temperature ingredients make better cakes. It’s a good idea to measure and set out all your ingredients at least an hour prior of mixing them.
