Almond Cake

Not overly sweet, this gluten-free Almond Cake has a delicate orange and almond flavor with a hint of cardamom.

Almond Extract

INGREDIENTS

Almond Flour

Eggs

Sugar

+

Ground Cardamom

+

Lemon Zest

+

Oil

+

Confectioners’ Sugar

Toasted Almonds

Whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks.

In a separate bowl mix the wet ingredients.

Add the dry ingredients and mix to combine.

Gently, fold the egg whites into the almond cake batter.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake.

Remove from the oven and allow the cake to rest for 10 minutes.

Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with almonds.

Although using orange or lemon zest in this recipe is optional, I HIGHLY recommend that you give them a try.
